BIMA
Come see Reliefeelable in action at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Arts (BIMA) today! We are upstairs at the Classroom Gallery adding new dimensions to 4 permanent artworks on display from the BIMA Permanent Art Collection:
-
Sumatra by Alfredo Arreguin (shown on the right),
-
Crows in Boat under Blue Moon by Frank Renlie,
-
Red Car Trip at Dusk by Max Grover,
-
Cabin at the Lake by John Cole.
Next to each artwork is our 3D printed tactile relief (blue rectangle) that can be felt and a button that reads out a description of the image (blue button).
Here is a video of the aisle showing our artwork.

Feedback
The experience of being able to touch the painting while hearing the audio description is invaluable
- Jerry, President of Bainbridge Island Visually Impaired Persons Support Group

I had heard of the starry night before but, I had never known it was like this. I used to think it was just a painting of a sky with stars, I didn’t know there was a village, a tree, and the stars are swirls before I tried out your solution.
